Yodelling song inspired my FA Cup anthem
WHEN Leicester City reached the 1963 FA Cup final, there was a competition in the Sports Mercury to write a song to the tune of one of the songs in the charts at that time.
Well I wrote one and have found it in my autograph book – it was to the tune, She Taught Me How To Yodel, which was made popular by Frank Ifield.
My song was published in the paper, but they did not put my name to it. I was then Carol Norman.
My father and brothers were all Leicester City supporters, and on October 31, 1964, my dad had a heart attack and died at Filbert Street. He was a football fan but also loved the bands that marched up the pitch at half time.
