Car hits bus shelter

-

A CAR driver escaped unhurt after their vehicle crashed into a brick bus shelter.

Police attended the accident and saw the badly damaged silver Honda still embedded in the structure.

Officers said it was lucky no-one was standing at the bus stop.

They also said the driver was fortunate not to be injured in the incident.

Officers from the Leicestershire Police’s Roads Policing Unit were called to the scene.

A member tweeted: “Fortunately, there was no-one stood at this bus stop when the Civic decided to park in it at speed. Please drive to the conditions, especially on roads and in areas you’re unfamiliar with. Fortunately, no injuries.”

It is not known if any charges resulted from the crash.
