Join mission to save planet for half-term fun

-

FAMILIES looking for something fun to do this May half-term (Saturday May 29 to Sunday, June 6), can visit Twycross Zoo’s first Wildlife Warriors event.

Led by a Twycross Zoo conservation ranger, it requires visitors to report to “TZ basecamp” on arrival, before setting off around the zoo on an epic quest to save the planet.

Along the journey, visitors will be asked to answer questions, complete challenges, solve riddles and tasks at conservation stations along the route.

From the smallest of insects to the greatest of apes, guests will find out the ways that all of the creatures impact on our eco-systems and discover small ways that they can make a difference to their conservation.

On the interactive trail, visitors can explore acres of wildlife; discover the animal kingdom with more than 500 animals from 125 species; say hello to the great apes (the only place in the UK where guests can see all four of our closest living relatives); enjoy outdoor play areas; walk with lemurs in immersive habitats and visit to one of the zoo’s multiple gift shops.

From today, indoor areas around

Twycross Zoo will reopen in line with the government’s updated Covid-19 guidelines.

Neil Dorman, curator of the zoo, said: “We can’t wait to welcome families to the zoo. This event highlights the importance not only of species across the world but also the species that inhabit the UK, in our parks and gardens.”

Book at ticket on the zoo’s website.
