Burglars steal electrical items after raiding shop

BURGLARS smashed their way into a shop in Leicester and stole garden trimmers and other electrical items.

The thieves struck after breaking a window at a store in Uppingham Road in Humberston­e, between 6.30pm on Monday, May 10 and 8.45am the next day.

Among the items stolen were four Wahl garden trimmers, an electric fan, a couple of toasters, three hairdryers and two juicers. A quantity of toiletries was also stolen.

Police are appealing for anyone with any informatio­n about the incident to contact them. A rear window was smashed allowing entry to be gained to the property.

Pc Eliot Bates said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious to get in touch.

“Equally, if you were driving along Uppingham Road and have a dashcam installed in your vehicle please check your footage and call us if you have captured anything you feel to be out of the ordinary.”

Anyone with informatio­n about the crime can call the police on 101.
