Brennan guests as Lions seek Proctor’s replacement

-

LEICESTER have booked Tom Brennan as a guest rider in place of Ty Proctor for tomorrow’s home Championship clash with the Newcastle Diamonds, writes Alan Jones.

Lions team boss Stewart Dickson is currently scouring the market for a replacement for Proctor following the announcement on Wednesday that he was taking a break away from racing after a run of low scores.

In the meantime, Leicester will cover for the Australian’s absence with guest riders. There is no firm news yet as to who Leicester are hoping to sign as a replacement although Dickson, right, has stated that he has in mind one or two possibilities who would fit into his team plans.

“We have one or two potential targets in mind” said Dickson.

“I really feel that we are one rider away from being a dominant force in the Championship again. “Now though, we need to make sure there are no slip-ups tomorrow night. We’ve been okay at home so far, and we need that to continue so we keep that points total ticking along before we get back up to full strength.” Meanwhile, the Watling JCB Lions are still without Josh

Bates who aggravated a shoulder injury after a fall whilst practising at Sheffield last week.

They are covering for the former double British Under21- Champion by sharing his four scheduled track appearances out between his teammates.

The visitors are also in a similar situation to Leicester with two injuries.

Their number one rider Ben Barker is sidelined through injury and he is replaced by Scunthorpe’s Thomas Jorgensen as a guest.

Like Leicester, the Diamonds are operating the rider replacement facility at number two in their team for Adam Roynon.

Leicester: 1. Nick Morris, 2. Rider Replacement for Ty Proctor, 3. Kyle Howarth, 4. Tom Brennan, 5. Ryan Douglas, 6. Dan Thompson and 7. Joe Thompson.

Newcastle: 1. Thomas Jorgensen, 2. Rider Replacement for Adam Roynon, 3. Connor Mountain, 4. Max Clegg, 5. Matthew Wethers, 6. James Wright and 7. Jack Parkinson-Blackburn.
