City given funding to help most vulnerable
VULNERABLE adults facing issues such as homelessness, substance misuse or mental health difficulties will receive tailored support as part of a programme launched this month, the government says.
Eddie Hughes, minister for rough sleeping and homelessness, said Changing Futures – a partnership with The National Lottery Community Fund – will help the most vulnerable in society get the support they need by co-ordinating services.
Leicester is one of 15 areas selected to be part of the
£64 million programme and will receive £2.6 million over the next three years.
The money will be used for “broadening existing partnership work around homelessness” and offering “intensive support for the most complex individuals”.
Mr Hughes said: “It is vital that vulnerable people in Leicester and around the country get the tailored support they need to rebuild their lives.
“Our ground-breaking programme will help the most vulnerable in our society, giving them the tools they need to turn their lives around.”
