Foxes squad is strengthened
LEICESTER City Women are strengthening their ranks ahead of their maiden Super League season.
After earning promotion last term, City Women are now building a squad they believe will be capable of competing in the top flight, with three signings made over the past week.
The latest to arrive is defender Georgia Brougham, who comes with Women’s Super League experience, having played 19 of Birmingham City’s 22 fixtures while on loan from Everton last season.
Brougham follows Jemma Purfield and Jess Sigsworth through the door at the club.
Left-back Purfield comes in from Bristol City, and while only 24, she has plenty of experience, having represented England at various levels.
Striker Sigsworth, who joins after 26 goals in 66 games for Manchester United in three years, said she was “absolutely delighted” at the move.
