REMIX THE STARS IN GARAGEBAND
Apple’s GarageBand musicmaking software has received a celebrity boost with the release of a series of sound packs and remix projects for iPhone and iPad.
There are now tunes by Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga that users can download and remix right within the app by following step-by-step video instructions.
The two Remix Sessions give you access to all the individual vocal and instrument tracks in Dua Lipa’s Break My Heart and Lady Gaga’s Free Woman, and allows you to rearrange them in any way you like, plus add your own sounds to take them in any direction you like.
The video accompaniment features an Apple Store Creative who will guide you though the whole process.
In addition to the Remix Sessions, there are also seven new Producer Packs included in the update.
The packs, from Boys Noize, Mark Lettieri, Oak Felder, Soulection, Take A Daytrip, Tom Misch, and TRAKGIRL, feature loops, beats, instruments, drum kits, synth patches, and samples that embody the sound of each producer. You can use all of them in your own projects.
Each pack also features a video from the producer to explain more about their creative process.
The whole thing ties in with the new series from producer Mark Ronson on Apple TV+ – Watch The Sound explores how technology and music intersect, and there is a special companion Producer Pack in the GarageBand update which allows you to get hands-on with some of the sounds and techniques explored in the series.
