BATMAN ‘89 #1

For many of us, the first big-screen taste of Batman’s darker side was delivered courtesy of Tim Burton’s 1989 classic.

This new series pulls on a number of threads left dangling by the prolific director in that first outing. Expanding on Burton’s universe, Michael Keaton’s Bat returns, alongside Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman, and Billy Dee Williams’ Two-Face. It will also introduce Marlon Wayans as Robin, and Prince’s version of the Joker.

Written by screenwriter Sam Hamm – the man behind Batman, and Batman Returns – with art by Joe Quinones, Batman ‘89 #1 is out now, priced £3.60.
