Views sought on how to improve city cul-de-sacs

-

COUNCIL officers will be knocking on doors in Clarendon Park over the next few days to ask residents their views on how to breathe new life into the area’s dead end roads.

The city council created the cul-desacs years ago in an attempt to decrease traffic in the area, while still allowing pedestrian access.

It is now seeking opinions on how residents want to see the area developed to improve their experience of the place.

Suggested considerations for improvements include resurfacing, extra seating, the installation of cycleways and new planting of trees and greenery.

Council officers will be speaking to the people who live, work and study in the area. Councillor Adam Clarke, deputy city mayor and lead for environment and transportation, said: “We want to find out the views of people so we can look at whether improvements need to be made there, and what they might look like.”

Officers will be in Lytton Road today and in Seymour Road on Thursday, August 12.

They will be at the locations between noon and 2pm on their respective days.

There is also an online form for people to fill in with their opinions.

The deadline for filling in the form is Sunday, August 29.

After this date, officers will share the community’s views with locals and ward councillors.
