Third male held after two injured at house in city

MAN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF MAKING THREATS TO KILL

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of “aggravated assault, making threats to kill and stalking” after violence broke out at a house.

Three people have now been detained in connection with the incident on Tuesday in Glenhills Boulevard, Eyres Monsell, Leicester.

One male casualty remains in hospital, where his condition was described as “serious but stable” by police.

The investigat­ion is continuing, with detectives urging anyone who witnessed the violence, or has any other informatio­n, to come forward.

A police spokesman said: “Officers were called to the area at 2.50pm, where a man in his 30s was found with serious injuries.

“He was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he currently remains in a serious but stable condition.

“A woman, in her 30s, was also found to have suffered injuries at the scene. She was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.”

Two males, aged 17 and 19, were arrested at the scene “on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm”.

They have since been released under investigat­ion.

The spokesman said: “Following further inquiries, a 33-year-old man, of Leicester, has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasionin­g actual bodily harm, making threats to kill and stalking.”

Detective Sergeant Adrian Davies said inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstan­ces of the incident.

He is appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may be able to help with the investigat­ion to get in touch.

“We understand there were some other people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident and may therefore be able to help us with our ongoing inquiries,” he said.

“If you were in the area at the time, please think back to anything you may have seen or heard and please make contact with us.”
