Hey big spenders

-

YOU may know her best as Stacey, but Joanna Page appears on our screens tonight in a new incarnation as a telly presenter.

Last seen in the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special in 2019, the actress has now teamed up with Melanie Sykes to rummage through people’s wardrobes – and she couldn’t be happier about it.

The mum-of-three, who has her own shopping habit to curb, says: “I’m really nosy, so I love going into other people’s houses and finding out how they live, spend and what their weaknesses are.

“We offer tips and advice to help them build better spending habits and I thought the whole thing was fascinating.”

The idea is that Jo and Melanie help people to kickstart their savings. Initially they let themselves into people’s homes and snoop around, then surprise the unsuspecting – ok, slightly suspecting – participants.

This time they help Bally and

Steve Katnoria from Kent, who have four daughters and a big spending problem.

“I thought we were really savvy,” says mum Bally, who lives in a house where parcels are delivered daily, everything is branded and ‘Treat myself’ seems to be the family motto.

Jo and Melanie get to work assessing their needs and swapping out branded products for cheaper items.

They also try to convince them that they don’t each need five new outfits for the next family wedding.

As always, this is a fun watch as other people’s bonkers spending is laid bare, while we’re just grateful no one is watching our own spending too closely...
