Divine art on show in church
A COUNTY church will be displaying contemporary artworks this month, including a sound sculpture streamed from its steeple tower.
On Saturday and Sunday, August 21 and 22, All Saints Church in Loughborough will show a collection of art drawn from the personal narratives, extraordinary moments, and challenges in the lives of the people who took part.
At its core is a celebration of life with a wider questioning of what it is to experience remembrance, grief, and the passing of time.
The works were made during the pandemic in response to workshops commissioned and supported by Charnwood Arts and led by three emerging artists; Jessica Wilson, Pasha Kincaid and Samuel Thompson-Plant who have curated the final show, Secret Structures / Hidden Stories. Samuel said: “The work represents the possibility of shifting towards new ways of thinking about our personal experience.”
The exhibition is free.
