Water park to be private holiday lodge complex
SITE IS CLOSING TO DAY VISITORS NEXT MONTH AHEAD OF REVAMP
THE owners of Bosworth Water Park are to turn it into a private holiday lodge complex.
The 50-acre site, just outside Market Bosworth, includes the Blue Lagoon Beach, which was created in 2015.
It also offers activities such as sailing, canoeing, and crazy golf.
However, it will close permanently to day visitors in just over four weeks.
The owners released a statement in which they said: “After 30 years of serving our loyal customers at our family attraction, we have chosen to take a new direction and develop the site into a private holiday lodge complex.
“We will close permanently on October 4 to all day visitors. We will then remain closed to all guests until April 1.”
The statement, attributed to Nigel and Joanne Ryley, said the first phase of luxury lakeside lodges will be ready in the spring and the campsite will open to visitors with caravans and motorhomes only from April 1.
A spokesman for Bosworth Water Park said there will be 103 lakeside lodges and facilities will include an owners’ lounge for sports and socialising, tennis courts, lawn bowls, outdoor play areas and water-based activities.
The statement said: “It has taken 30 years, two generations of family, dedicated staff both longstanding and seasonal all putting their heart and soul into creating the fantastic environment we all love.
“In closing, we can’t let the occasion pass by without asking you to share your memories with us.
“If you have any memories you wish to share, please ensure we are tagged in the posts.”
