THE country’s biggest Second World War re-enactment week event returns this weekend.

The Victory Show, at Foxlands Farm, Cosby, opens today with education sessions for up to 1,000 children from around the county, and runs until Sunday.

Tanks, half-tracks and up to 300 military vehicles will be on show, alongside what is believed to be the largest assembly of 1940s living history displays in the UK.

There will be an array of static aircraft and an air show featuring a Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane and P-51 Mustang each day.

Exact timings are yet to be confirmed as it will depend on weather conditions, but the air show will begin each day at approximately 1.30pm to 2pm.

Visitors can also see what organisers describe as the UK’s largest Second

World War battle re-enactment. Organisers said the main aim of the Victory Show is to provide a Second World War-themed event for the whole family to enjoy.

The event will run from 9am until 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

Standard tickets are £20 adult, £10 child under 16, with free entry for infants up to two years old.

VIP tickets are also available and allow access to a dedicated enclosure, unlimited soft drinks, lunch, a show brochure, flight line walk, chance to meet the pilots, seating in the battle reenactment viewing area and VIP car parking.
