Camera club shows off work

AMATEUR photograph­ers’ work has gone on show at an annual exhibition.

Earl Shilton Camera Club’s show at the Atkins Gallery, in Hinckley, runs until September6.

A spokesman said despite the difficulti­es Covid-19 restrictio­ns have presented, the club, which is in its 46th year, has had one of its most successful years.

Utilising technology such as Zoom has enabled it to continue weekly meetings and have guest speakers, and the technology has also allowed speakers from further afield to give talks.

District councillor Keith Nichols said: “It is fantastic finally that the Atkins Gallery can reopen its doors for visitors to come and view it’s many exhibition­s.

“We warmly welcome back Earl Shilton Camera Club and I hope its exhibition will be well attended and residents of the borough, looking potentiall­y to start a new hobby or want to develop their photograph­ic skills take the opportunit­y to meet club members.”

Visitors can also view the contempora­ry artworks of local artist Tracy Slater.
