Estate plan submitted
PROPOSAL FOR 105 HOMES AND BUSINESS UNITS
DETAILED plans for more than 100 homes alongside an industrial estate have been brought forward for Market Bosworth.
An application was submitted this month for 105 houses to be built on land at Station Road.
Developer Turley said it aimed to create a community with sustainable and affordable homes.
Hinckley and Bosworth Council is expected to make a decision on the plans next month.
A separate masterplan submitted in November was approved for the housing in principle, alongside business units.
Birmingham consultancy Define was appointed to create an overall scheme and development strategy for a 7.6-hectare site, to the south of Station Road.
It included providing between half and one hectare of employment land.
Turley said the 105 homes are set to include a range of house types and sizes, 40 per cent of which would be classed as affordable housing. It promised to retain and manage the majority of existing hedgerows and trees in the area to “encourage biodiversity and retain the landscape character of the site”.
The planning application said: “Our vision is to establish a safe, attractive and secure neighbourhood, streets and spaces which promote social interaction, affording access and movement priority to pedestrians and cyclists.”
The entrance to the estate is expected to be near the entrance of Kyngs Golf and Country Club, which is set to reopen following the approval of plans for a new clubhouse and holiday complex.
In 2016, the site was bought by developer Statue Homes which is to build a centre with a shop and bar area and increase car parking on site by more than 100 spaces.
