RETAILER Marks & Spencer has announced a major recruitment drive at its east Midlands distribution centre in Castle Donington.

The company will be taking on 300 new warehouse operatives on parttime and full-time contracts until the end of December.

According to M&S, the new roles will support the distribution centre through peak season in the run up to Christmas.

The new starters will work across the whole distribution line, helping to pick and pack Christmas orders for delivery across the nation.

There is also the opportunity for successful candidates to join the team on a permanent basis or on recurring contracts based on recruitment needs.

An open day takes place this weekend for people interested in finding out more.

Robert Davies, head of M&S Castle Donington, said: “We are really pleased to be partnering with Staffline to offer these new and exciting opportunities for local workers to join our team at Castle Donington.

“The roles will have an important part to play in making sure that even in our very busiest time of the year, we deliver exceptional service for our customers and their families in the run up to Christmas.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors to the distribution centre on our open day on Sunday.

“I’d encourage anyone who’d like to know more about the roles or what it’s like to work here to drop in so they can see our site for themselves and meet some of our team members.” M&S is offering colleagues £10.05 an hour between now and December 31, for those applying directly via the M&S recruitment partner Staffline. There are also opportunities to earn 25 per cent more during premium shifts taking place between 10pm and 6am.

Additionally, employees will have access to the on-site res taurant and subsidised bus travel to the site provided by Staffline.

If interested, candidates can call 01332 982082 or visit the site in Castle Donington on its open day, between 10am and 2pm on Sunday.

I’d encourage anyone who’d like to know more about the roles or what it’s like to work here to drop in Robert Davies
