Be shaken and stirred as cocktail week debuts
26 OF THE CITY’S BARS ARE DOING £5 DRINK DEALS
Venues around the city are preparing to take part in the first Leicester Cocktail Week later this month.
Running from september 20-26, the event is aiming to help Leicester’s hospitality industry bounce back postpandemic.
The event will see 26 of Leicester’s bars and restaurants offer their signature cocktail for just £5.
They are hoping to encourage more people to head into, or stay in, the city after work and indulge in Leicester’s burgeoning cocktail culture.
Leicester Cocktail Week will also offer consumers the chance to vote for their favourite cocktail, with a view to driving passion and pride among the participating venues after a challenging 19 months for the businesses and workers.
eve Macmillan, assistant manager at Beautiful Pub’s The Rutland and Derby, who has taken the lead in organising the week, said: “I’m ecstatic to see so many venues involved, the majority of which are home to members of the professional ‘Leicester Bartenders Forum.’
“I really hope that people will embrace this week and the Leicester Cocktail Week will become a regular fixture in people’s diary for years to come.
“Over the past few weeks I have been blown away by commitment and energy from all involved in this collaboration. Leicester’s hospitality scene is definitely something to be proud of.”
