Why our primary care needs a radical rethink
I WAS invited by my GP surgery to have a flu jab and asked to ring the telephone number and which options to select.
After several attempts, I just had to give up, having listened to the same message each time and then finding the line was busy.
I am not alone in this experience and would like to offer a solution.
Why not “nationalise” the whole of primary care, so that the GPs and staff are managed directly by the NHS? There would be a better possibility that the patient would be put first, rather than second as at present.
