NEW BREWERY TOURS TO END WITH TASTING OPPORTUNITY

IT’S the news that beer fans in Leicestershire have been waiting for - you can now book a behind the scenes tour of the new Everards brewery.

Independent, family-owned brewery Everards has been brewing beer since 1849 and is well known across Leicestershire and beyond for its Tiger ale, the official ale of the Leicester Tigers, and first brewed in 1972.

Since closing its Castle Acres Brewery - which was demolished to make way for the Fosse Park extension - Everards has been working towards creating a new state-of-the-art brewery over the road at Everards Meadows.

The brewery, which opened in July, features a spacious and contemporary beer hall and a bar lined with a selection of beers including a range of limited-edition drinks brewed on-site at the smaller pilot brewery.

It also features a shop where you can stock up on Everards beers as well as gift items.

Now, you can take a look behind the scenes with one of the new tours, which will launch on Thursday, October 21.

Brewery tours will run from Thursday to Sunday and will last approximately an hour-and-a-half.

Visitors will find out about the brewing process, from conception to fruition, and learn about Everards’ rich brewing heritage, the ingredients used, and the Everards family.

Once visitors have seen the whole brewing process, including the pilot brewery, they will be able to sample some beer at the end of the tour.

Tours are for over 18s only, and cost £20 per person.
