BMW driver is seriously hurt in B582 crash
A MAN was in hospital last night with serious injuries after a collision on a country road near Enderby.
The crash happened on the B582 Desford Road, not far from the Next headquarters, at about 1.10am yesterday.
The road was shut throughout much of the night, from Desford Crossroads at the A47 to Next, and on into the morning.
Police said the crash involved a grey BMW 5 Series and a white Mercedes Sprinter van.
The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the van driver suffered only minor injuries.
Police have made an appeal for witnesses.
They said in a statement: “Two vehicles were involved in a serious collision in Enderby during the early hours of Sunday.
“The collision occurred about 1.10am in Desford Road and involved a grey BMW 5 Series and a white Mercedes Sprinter van. The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment in hospital. The van driver sustained minor injuries.
“Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area. The collision took place between the Next Headquarters and Desford Crossroads.
“Also, if anyone has video recording equipment installed in their vehicles they are asked to check the footage.”
