When will Randox send our Covid test results?

MY brother and I both paid in advance for our Randox lateral flow tests, had them delivered to our home and sent them back to Randox within 48 hours of our return from Cadiz in Spain.

Three weeks later, we still do not have our test results back.

I have written to Randox via email and had absolutely no reply, aside from a confusing message from one of their senior staff that answers no questions.

We are also somewhat concerned that disgraced former MP Owen Paterson represented Randox, a Conservative Party-linked firm that was still given a new £347 million government Covid contract.

This month, The Guardian reported that “the deal is a sixmonth extension of an existing contract and was agreed without other companies being invited to bid”.

We operate a small business in Leicester and are shocked that the awarding of such contracts represents a closed shop to “those in the know”.

We as business owners fully believe in the free enterprise system, but this is an example of what former Prime Minister Ted Heath described as ”the unpleasant and unacceptable face of capitalism”.

We are all for fairness and humility in business matters and treating everybody with respect.

Whilst this scandal is bad enough our immediate concern is that we have each paid £43 and received no results. The very least we deserve is our money back!

On our return from Spain, we took our Randox tests and on Sunday, October 24, we dropped off the two completed test kits at the Randox drop box at Church of the Resurrection, in Weymouth Street, Leicester, as per instructions.

Where are our results? We went into the expected two-day “lockdown” while awaiting them, and then decided to do a Covid-19 rapid antigen test on the third day. This proved to be negative.

The process seems to be quite quick in accepting our payment and despatching the test kits, but is somewhat in the slow lane for results. I cannot believe that we are the only “random” Randox story!
