£3m price tag for land near town
A HUGE plot of land near Ashby has gone on the market for £3 million and comes with permission to build up to 30 homes on site.
The land, which is empty, sits next to a big housing estate in Woodville, off Hepworth Road, and is looking for a buyer.
Planning permission for homes has already be granted by North West Leicestershire District Council and will be sold along with the land which has been cleared, ready for building to start.
If building work begins, it is likely to add to the “already congested” Tollgate island which is currently awaiting the opening of a new bypass.
The land is being marketed by commercial estate agents, Rushton Hickman, who said in a report: “Situated on the outskirts of Woodville and within the National Forest, the residential scheme will provide the perfect balance of both rural and modern town living. Woodville has many amenities, including a garden centre, post office, library, doctors’ surgery, pharmacy, barbers, 24-hour petrol station, cafes and takeaways.
“The charming nearby village of Blackfordby is just 0.7 miles away and has a bustling village hall, primary school and traditional pub.
“The site benefits from having outline planning permission approved for the erection of 30 contemporary architect designed custom build dwellings and supporting infrastructure.
“The approved application effectively allows the developer to build the properties to shell specification and the property purchaser select the external architectural vernacular from either timber, render or brick.”
