Big names in packed weekend
STARS TAKE TO FESTIVAL STAGES
AMONG the dozens of performers gracing stages across the county this weekend are some of the comedy festival’s biggest names.
Audiences can see, among others, Rosie Jones, Katherine Ryan, Marcus Brigstocke, Pam Ayres and, er, Laurel and Hardy.

ROSIE JONES
An Interview With... The Y, today, 2pm: Rosie Jones has quickly become a must-see act on the UK comedy circuit. She was awarded second place in the Leicester Mercury’s New Comedian Of The Year Award 2018. She chats with Festival Founding Director Geoff Rowe about her career.
Children’s Reading, today, 4pm, Fox Books, St Martin’s Square: Rosie reading from her debut book, The Amazing Edie Eckhart. Followed by a Q&A and a signing.
Work in Progress, today, 9.30pm, The Big Difference
KATHERINE RYAN
Missus, Today, De Montfort Hall, 8pm: Creator and Star of Netflix smash hit The Duchess, comedian and TV’s Katherine Ryan returns to the stage with her new live show.
MARCUS BRIGSTOCKE
Just The Tonic’s Saturday Night Special With Marcus Brigstocke, Hansom Hall, today, 8.30pm: Also Featuring Jarred Chistmas, and Lou
Conran, with more acts potentially still to be announced.
PAM AYRES
An Interview with Pam Ayres in aid of Big Difference,
Curve, tomorrow, 3pm: She will chat with Leicester Comedy Festival Founding Director Geoff Rowe, about how she got started and developed her career.
LAUREL AND HARDY
The Laurel and Hardy Cabaret, Guildhall, today, 3pm and 6pm: Cabaret in which Lucky Dogs perform routines from the duo’s career, including music hall scripts from the UK tours between 1947 and 1954. Billed as: “The closest you will get to seeing the original pair in action.”
