Justin will have scan on ‘tight’ hamstring

JAMES Justin will have a scan on his hamstring after the full-back was forced off during Leicester City’s 2-2 draw with West Ham.

Justin sat down on the King Power Stadium turf after half an hour of Sunday’s game, the 23-year-old gripping his left hamstring.

After treatment, it was deemed that he could not continue, and he hobbled off to be replaced by Luke Thomas.

A scan is required to determine the severity of the problem, with Justin himself not sure if it was just a twinge or something more serious.

“He felt it tight, he’s not sure if he’s pulled it,” City manager Brendan Rodgers said in his postmatch press conference.

“It was obviously going to restrict him. We’ll just have to see what the scan says on that.”

The match was Justin’s third start in the space of eight days, having played 90 minutes in the defeats at Nottingham Forest and Liverpool.

He only returned to the team last month after an 11-month lay-off with a serious knee injury, playing a game and a half of senior football before the three matches in the past week.

If Justin faces time on the sidelines, it will be an issue for City, who are already short at full-back, with Timothy Castagne unavailable until next month and Ryan Bertrand out for the season.

However, Wesley Fofana was expected to resume full training yesterday.

The centre-back has been working with the sports science team in individual sessions for the past few months, undergoing rehabilitation for the broken leg and ankle ligament damage he suffered in City’s final a pre-season friendly in August.

He will train alongside his teammates as they prepare for the first leg of the Europa Conference League knockout round play-off against Danish Cup winners Randers on Thursday.
