A MOTHER and daughter charged with the murder of two men who died in a collision on the A46 in Leicestershire appeared in court yesterday.

Mahek Bukhari, a TikTok and social media influencer, and her mother, Ansreen Bukhari, entered not guilty pleas to the murder of Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin and Saquib Hussain, both 21.

The alleged victims were friends from Banbury, Oxfordshire, who were travelling together in a Skoda Fabia when the collision happened.

They were pronounced dead at the scene, near the junction of Six Hills, in the early hours of Friday, February 11 this year.

Mahek Bukhari, 22, and her 45-year-old mother, both of George Eardley Close, in Stoke-on-Trent, are jointly charged with six others, including four Leicester men and one from Loughborough.

At a previous Leicester Crown Court hearing, in March, a Birmingham woman, 21-year-old Natasha Akhtar, of Alum Rock Road, denied both murder charges, along with Raees Jamal, aged 21, of Lingdale Close, Loughborough, 28-year-old Rekan Karwan, of Tomlin Road, Northfields, Leicester and 20-yearold Mohammed Patel, of Braybrooke Road, Northfields, Leicester.

Two other Leicester men, 22-yearold Sanaf Gulammustafa and 27-year-old Ameer Jamal, were arrested on Wednesday, March 16 and also charged with the two murders.

Gulammustafa, of Littlemore Close, Crown Hills, and Jamal, of Catherine Street, Belgrave, appeared at the city’s crown court yesterday alongside their co-accused, but did not enter pleas.

The two are next due to appear in court on Wednesday, June 1.

A pre-trial review hearing was set down for a date in August, with

a 10-week trial due to start in October.
