Two new faces on board of directors at cricket club

-

LEICESTERSHIRE County Cricket Club has made two new appointments to its Board of Directors.

Louise Seymour, the current Leicester City Council director, will be taking on a new role elsewhere at the end of July and the council have identified Ruth Lake as her successor on the board.

Ruth has worked for Leicester City Council for over 25 years and has been their Adult Social Care and Safeguarding Director since 2005.

Before joining the council, she worked in NHS and voluntary sector mental health services.

Ruth manages a team of over 400 staff, who provide social care support to adults and older people in Leicester, across the city’s diverse communities.

She was a school chair of governors for over seven years and her family are actively involved in local village cricket teams.

Her work revolves around creating inclusive cultures, championing the significant benefits that sports participation and engagement can bring to individuals and to communities.

Sport England’s Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Viveen Taylor, will also be joining the board.

She joined the organisation in August 2019 as Strategic Lead for Socio-economic groups, supporting colleagues to understand the barriers to their engagement and participation in sport and physical activity.

She leads a team at Sport England with responsibility for ensuring that the wider sport and physical activity sector is accountable and responsible for inclusion and diversity. Viveen has also worked in the charitable sector for over 30 years.
