Darcy predicts 15 heats of close racing against King’s Lynn

-

LEICESTER Lions are back racing tonight in a Premiership fixture against the King’s Lynn Stars at the Pidcock Motorcycle Arena, writes Alan Jones.

Co-promoter David Darcy said: “We showed what we are capable of last week with a win against Wolverhampton.

“It was the first time that I sense we rode as close to our potential as possible and yet I do think that there is more to come from the team.

“The King’s Lynn team will present us with another stiff challenge, I am sure of that.

“But I do feel that the five new signings we made in the winter to strengthen the team for the step-up into the Premiership have now worked out the best racing lines to take on our track and I am hopeful that we can secure another league win.

“Nevertheless, I think we have the prospect of another treat of 15 heats of close racing.

“The visitors can look to their strong opening pairing of Nicolai Klindt and Thomas Jorgensen who always ride our track well.

“Klindt is a former Lions rider who knows his way around the Leicester track and Jorgensen is guaranteed to put in a good shift.

“At number four they have an enigma in Krzysztof Kasprzak who can be absolutely brilliant on his day. “So much will depend upon the Polish international’s performance to deliver the points which could mean the difference between them winning or losing. “However, we have the confidence going into this match after winning against Wolverhampton last week. “The Wolves line-up was particularly strong and yet we came through with flying colours and probably astounded the pundits who had it down as an away win for the Wolves.”

Leicester: 1. Max Fricke. 2. Justin Sedgmen, 3. Ricard Lawson, 4. Chris Harris, 5. Nick Morris, 6. Jake Allen and 7. Dan Thompson.

King’s Lynn: 1. Nicolai Klindt, 2. Thomas Jorgensen, 3. Frederik Jakobsen, 4. Krzysztof Kasprzak, 5. Michael Palm Toft, 6. Tom Brennan and 7. Jason Edwards.
