Clean bill of health as Foxes bid to seal title

-

LEICESTER City have a full squad available for their potential Championship title party at Preston tonight (8pm) with Marc Albrighton, Ricardo Pereira, and Dennis Praet fit to play, writes Jordan Blackwell.

Enzo Maresca confirmed the clean bill of health at his press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of tonight’s trip to Deepdale, where City will be crowned champions with a win.

Maresca will have his full complement to choose from with Ricardo fit despite being substituted on the hour against Southampton.

Albrighton has recovered from a minor injury, and Praet is also available despite a studs-up tackle to his ankle in added time in midweek.

Understandably, the fitness of his squad has left Maresca in a good mood.

“They are all available,” the Italian said. “Absolutely (it’s a good feeling).

“Even Marc Albrighton, who was the only one with some problems, is back.

“Kasey (McAteer) is finally back. We gave him some minutes the other day.

“So we’re good for the last two games.

“Ricky is fine. The reason why he didn’t play against West Brom was because he had some problems the day before the game.

“There was not any reason why Hamza (Choudhury) didn’t play against Southampton after the performance against West Brom, but sometimes you have to take decisions.

“Hamza was fantastic, but now Ricky is fine.

“The last game against Southampton, we decided to change him to refresh him with Hamza.

“But overall Ricky is fine. Dennis, he can be okay for the game, yes.”

Maresca made two changes for the Southampton game, bringing Ricardo in for Choudhury and James Justin in for Conor Coady as the Foxes ran out 5-0 winners.

With six days to rest, recover, and prepare for Preston, he could name an unchanged side.
