Boys’ Bri­gade wow crowd with great show

More than 50 boys and of­fi­cers from the 1stVale of Leven Boys’Bri­gade put on a show for par­ents and friends at their an­nual dis­play re­cently.

Dur­ing the event, at the Boys’Bri­gade Hall in Alexan­dria, they took part in a drill and a cal­en­dar photo pre­sen­ta­tion of the year.

The ju­nior sec­tion also marched, took part in a drama about the Prodi­gal Son and hosted a news quiz.

The An­chor Boys en­ter­tained the au­di­ence with songs us­ing sign lan­guage.

Cap­tain Hugh Hutchin­son said that ses­sion 2015/2016 was, on the whole, good year for the com­pany, but that fewer An­chor Boys and Com­pany Boys were a con­cern.

High­lights of the past year in­cluded trips to Glen­coe, Laser Quest, M&DTheme Park andTen Pin Bowl­ing.

Ju­nior Sec­tion fin­ished in a top three po­si­tion in ev­ery Bat­tal­ion com­pe­ti­tion, with a first place in the swim­ming gala and bi­ble knowl­edge com­pe­ti­tion.

The Com­pany sec­tion boys en­joyed both Na­tional and Bat­tal­ion events.

Three of the Com­pany Sec­tion boys are now work­ing for their Queen Badge and Sil­ver Duke of Ed­in­burgh Award.

Four se­nior boys are now be­com­ing of­fi­cer cadets (KGVI course) and work­ing for their Gold Duke of Ed­in­burgh Award and two of them have now grad­u­ated with their KGVI cer­tifi­cates.
