Burgh boys are top of the table
HelensburghTennis Club’s under-14 boys team lead their division after another great performance against Queen’s Park.
All four boys, Andrew Wilson,Tavish Hicks, Ciaran Hoskins and Conor won their singles with ease.
Andrew andTavish also won their doubles, with the loss of only two games.
Helensburgh first ladies travelled away to Glasgow clubWestern last week and Katie Hope and KarrieWalters earned a 6-3 win.
The second ouples match was a much tighter affair, but Sue Scott and Ann Morison fought hard to collect all three close sets. Playing at third pair Gay Black andYolande Trewhella also enjoyed a competitive match but lost their sets.
The men’s second team travelled to Clarkston without two regular players and struggled to win a set.
Robert Dunbar and Alastair Hope put up a brave fight at first couple, narrowly losing two sets on tie breaks.
Keith Love and Iain MacLaren at second couple played well, but each set was lost with just one break of serve.
Andy Castle and Phil Hamilton were soundly beaten at 3rd couple.
The ladies second team recently recorded a 6-3 win at home to Clarkston .
