Burgh boys are top of the ta­ble

He­lens­burghTen­nis Club’s un­der-14 boys team lead their di­vi­sion after an­other great per­for­mance against Queen’s Park.

All four boys, An­drew Wil­son,Tav­ish Hicks, Ciaran Hoskins and Conor won their sin­gles with ease.

An­drew andTav­ish also won their dou­bles, with the loss of only two games.

He­lens­burgh first ladies trav­elled away to Glas­gow clubWester­n last week and Katie Hope and Kar­rieWal­ters earned a 6-3 win.

The second ou­ples match was a much tighter af­fair, but Sue Scott and Ann Mori­son fought hard to col­lect all three close sets. Play­ing at third pair Gay Black andYolande Trewhella also en­joyed a com­pet­i­tive match but lost their sets.

The men’s second team trav­elled to Clark­ston without two reg­u­lar play­ers and strug­gled to win a set.

Robert Dun­bar and Alas­tair Hope put up a brave fight at first cou­ple, nar­rowly los­ing two sets on tie breaks.

Keith Love and Iain MacLaren at second cou­ple played well, but each set was lost with just one break of serve.

Andy Cas­tle and Phil Hamil­ton were soundly beaten at 3rd cou­ple.

The ladies second team re­cently recorded a 6-3 win at home to Clark­ston .
