Learning how they CAN stand up to bullies at 2nd annual rally
OnThursday 16th June, 34 S6 students attended the 2nd annual CAN youth Rally at the holy shrine to Our Lady in Carfin.
Our students led the procession around the grounds.
This is a pontifical charity, Aid to the church in need (ACN), and Pope Francis sent a message of spiritual closeness to all taking part and placed them under the protection of Our Lady of Lourdes.
Bishop John Keenan of Paisley began the rally by telling the young people to stand in solidarity with young people who are bullied and persecuted by fanatics.
A refugee from Iraq spoke to the young people of his experience, telling his story of trying to escape anti‐Christian terror.
The pupils found this a very powerful experience and presented their petition against persecution of Christians to Bishop John.
