Comfort for blaze victims
A kind-hearted crafter made patchwork quilts for victims of the GrenfellTower disaster.
RhonaThomson, who lives in Alexandria, got involved in a Facebook group through which she has made 20 quilts and donated the materials to fellow quilters to create a further 35.
The 54-year-old, who has been quilting since the age of 16, spotted the group Quilts for GrenfellTower and was determined to get involved.
She said:“There has been a quilt made for everyone but these are not only for those that were in the building during the fire but also members of the emergency services including firefighters, police, ambulance staff and 999 call handlers.”
Rhona founded charity Comfort Quilts Scotland, which has donated hundreds of patchwork and craft items to charities includingYorkhill Sick Kids, Senior Care and Spinal Units of Southern General Hospitals and deafblind organisation Sense.
