Crashed car brings trains to a standstill
Rush-hour commuters faced delays after a car ended up on the train line near Bowling.
A small red car is understood to have collided with a fence before ending up on the train line between Bowling and Kilpatrick last Thursday evening.
This caused the line to be closed while the car was recovered at around 5pm.
British Transport Police say a 76-year-old woman has been reported for careless driving following the incident.
Train services to Helensburgh — via Dumbarton, the Vale and Balloch — were all delayed until around 7pm.
A spokesman for Scotrail said on Thursday :“Following a road vehicle blocking the railway between Bowling and Kilpatrick the line has now reopened.
“Train services are returning to normal but some services will still be delayed or revised. “Disruption is expected until 7pm.”
