Fond farewell Mrs Kelly

A ded­i­cated deputy head teacher has re­tired af­ter 43 years nur­tur­ing gen­er­a­tions of chil­dren in Alexan­dria.

Rosa­mond Kelly held her most re­cent role for five years and cov­ered St Mar­tin’s and St Mary’s pri­maries.

She waved good­bye to staff and chil­dren and was piped out by for­mer pupils af­ter a spe­cial farewell cel­e­bra­tion on Oc­to­ber 20.

Col­leagues say Mrs Kelly, who ded­i­cated her­self to serv­ing gen­er­a­tions of chil­dren, was a sup­port­ive and en­cour­ag­ing in­flu­ence in their lives.

A spokes­woman for the school said: “Mrs Kelly has cou­pled her out­stand­ing vo­ca­tional ap­proach with a sen­si­tiv­ity and an aware­ness of all of our fam­i­lies’ needs.

“We wish to thank Mrs Kelly for ded­i­cat­ing her work­ing life to chil­dren in West Dun­bar­ton­shire.

“To cel­e­brate her re­tire­ment both schools had an as­sem­bly to thank Mrs Kelly for her care and sup­port over the years.

“There was also a mass at Our Lady and St Mark’s Church which was at­tended by fam­i­lies past and present fol­lowed by a tea in the school hall.

“At the end of the day Mrs Kelly was piped out by for­mer pupils.”
