Star guest at Helmand screening
James Bond star Daniel Craig left a young Dumbarton soldier stunned when he visited him on the frontline in Afghanistan.
Nicholas Hayes, 19, was among 800 troops who had assembled to watch a screening of the latest Bond film ‘Skyfall’ at Camp Bastion when the 007 star appeared at the beginning of the show.
Daniel Craig surprised the soldiers, sailors and airmen by arriving to introduce his latest film to the enthusiastic crowd .
The British actor was then given a tour of the camp and experienced military training first hand.
Royal Military Policeman Nicholas, who was serving his first tour in Afghanistan, posted a message about the visit on his Facebook page, saying: “That awkward moment when you’re in Afghanistan about to watch the new James Bond film Sky Fall and Daniel Craig walks in...”
He told the Lennox Herald: “The soldiers were invited along to watch the new James Bond movie and just prior to the movie starting Daniel Craig made an appearance.
