Christ­mas work­shop

Con­cord Com­mu­nity Cinema

The mu­si­cals sea­son con­tin­ues on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 22 at 1.30pm in Dum­bar­ton’s Con­cord Com­mu­nity Cen­tre with The Jazz Singer (1980) star­ring Neil Di­a­mond, Lawrence Olivier and Lu­cie Ar­naz. Mem­ber­ship is avail­able at £6 for three films to in­clude tea and buns af­ter the film Non mem­bers ad­mit­ted for £3 where seats avail­able, to in­clude tea and buns af­ter the film. Al­ter­na­tives Cafe will be open be­fore and af­ter the screen­ing.

Con­cert

Age Con­cern Vale of Leven’s con­cert and fes­tive draw will take place on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 22, at Alexan­dria Leisure Cen­tre. En­ter­tain­ment will be pro­vided by Christie Park Pri­mary School. The meet­ing starts at 1.30pm.

Ceilidh

On Fri­day, Novem­ber 24 the Wayne Robert­son Scot­tish Dance Band will per­form in the Osprey Suite, Com­modore Vin­tage Inn, West Clyde Street, He­lens­burgh from 8pm till mid­night. Fash­ion show

Royal Na­tional Lifeboat In­sti­tu­tion (RNLI) Dum­bar­ton and Dis­trict branch are hold­ing a fash­ion show on Fri­day, Novem­ber 24, at 7.30pm in West Kirk hall. Tay­lor Fash­ions from Hamil­ton are pre­sent­ing the show. Cardross Par­ish Church held its an­nual Christ­mas Fair last Satur­day Novem­ber 18 and it was a huge suc­cess once again.

Hun­dreds of lo­cal peo­ple turned out to sup­port the pop­u­lar fes­tive Wine and short­bread are in­cluded in the price of ticket. There will also be a raf­fle. Tick­ets are priced £5, avail­able from Norma by call­ing 01389 841435 or at the door.

Ram­blers

Christ­mas fayre

Jamestown Par­ish Church are hav­ing a Christ­mas fayre on Satur­day, Novem­ber 25, in Hal­dane Pri­mary event and get some ear­lier Christ­mas shop­ping done.

More than £2500 was raised on the day for church funds.

Rev­erend Mag­gie McArthur thanked ev­ery­one who came along, School from 2pm un­til 4pm. Ad­mis­sion is £2 for adults and £1 for chil­dren, which in­cludes tea/cof­fee/ juice and home bak­ing. There will tom­bola, toys, sweets, home­bak­ing, bot­tle stall, hol­i­day gifts, books, soft goods, white ele­phant plus a cou­ple of stalls sell­ing Christ­mas gifts and hand-crafted cards. Santa will also be there for the chil­dren.

Christ­mas fayre

A Christ­mas fayre will be held in Kil­bowie St Andrew’s Church, Tower Cen­tre, Cly­de­bank, on Satur­day, Novem­ber 25, at 10am. Stalls in­clude toi­letries, jew­ellery, bric-a-brac, soft goods, Christ­mas dec­o­ra­tions, toys and games. The tea­room will serve snacks and ad­mis­sion is 50p.

Langcraigs

On Sun­day, Novem­ber 26 Langcraigs took part and do­nated to the fair and thanked them all for their gen­eros­ity.

Bon­hill Se­nior Ci­ti­zens As­so­ci­a­tion are hold­ing their Christ­mas raf­fle on Tues­day, Novem­ber 28, at 1pm.

WO­VEN

Women of the Vale ec­u­meni­cal net­work, meets on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 1 in Ren­ton Trin­ity Church at 7.30pm for cof­fee, tea and mince pies, fol­lowed by an ad­vent wor­ship ser­vice con­ducted by some of the­women of WO­VEN fin­ish­ing at 9pm. All women are very warmly in­vited to at­tend.

Christ­mas Fayre

The group will be hold­ing their next mu­sic night at St Au­gus­tine’s Church on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 8. Doors open at 7pm, start time at 7.30 to 10.30pm. £5 en­try, BYOB and glass. This month AGM will host along with Ralph Thomson, Salud, West­port, Sleep­ing Giants and Kerry Smith per­form­ing on the night. Money raised from the past few shows will be do­nated to a West Dun­bar­ton­shire Car­ers char­ity.
