Concord Community Cinema
The musicals season continues on Wednesday, November 22 at 1.30pm in Dumbarton’s Concord Community Centre with The Jazz Singer (1980) starring Neil Diamond, Lawrence Olivier and Lucie Arnaz. Membership is available at £6 for three films to include tea and buns after the film Non members admitted for £3 where seats available, to include tea and buns after the film. Alternatives Cafe will be open before and after the screening.
Age Concern Vale of Leven’s concert and festive draw will take place on Wednesday, November 22, at Alexandria Leisure Centre. Entertainment will be provided by Christie Park Primary School. The meeting starts at 1.30pm.
On Friday, November 24 the Wayne Robertson Scottish Dance Band will perform in the Osprey Suite, Commodore Vintage Inn, West Clyde Street, Helensburgh from 8pm till midnight. Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Dumbarton and District branch are holding a fashion show on Friday, November 24, at 7.30pm in West Kirk hall. Taylor Fashions from Hamilton are presenting the show. Cardross Parish Church held its annual Christmas Fair last Saturday November 18 and it was a huge success once again.
Hundreds of local people turned out to support the popular festive Wine and shortbread are included in the price of ticket. There will also be a raffle. Tickets are priced £5, available from Norma by calling 01389 841435 or at the door.

Jamestown Parish Church are having a Christmas fayre on Saturday, November 25, in Haldane Primary event and get some earlier Christmas shopping done.
More than £2500 was raised on the day for church funds.
Reverend Maggie McArthur thanked everyone who came along, School from 2pm until 4pm. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children, which includes tea/coffee/ juice and home baking. There will tombola, toys, sweets, homebaking, bottle stall, holiday gifts, books, soft goods, white elephant plus a couple of stalls selling Christmas gifts and hand-crafted cards. Santa will also be there for the children.
A Christmas fayre will be held in Kilbowie St Andrew’s Church, Tower Centre, Clydebank, on Saturday, November 25, at 10am. Stalls include toiletries, jewellery, bric-a-brac, soft goods, Christmas decorations, toys and games. The tearoom will serve snacks and admission is 50p.
On Sunday, November 26 Langcraigs took part and donated to the fair and thanked them all for their generosity.

Bonhill Senior Citizens Association are holding their Christmas raffle on Tuesday, November 28, at 1pm.
Women of the Vale ecumenical network, meets on Friday, December 1 in Renton Trinity Church at 7.30pm for coffee, tea and mince pies, followed by an advent worship service conducted by some of thewomen of WOVEN finishing at 9pm. All women are very warmly invited to attend.
The group will be holding their next music night at St Augustine’s Church on Friday, December 8. Doors open at 7pm, start time at 7.30 to 10.30pm. £5 entry, BYOB and glass. This month AGM will host along with Ralph Thomson, Salud, Westport, Sleeping Giants and Kerry Smith performing on the night. Money raised from the past few shows will be donated to a West Dunbartonshire Carers charity.
