Dum­bar­ton Acous­tic Music Night

Dum­bar­ton Acous­tic Music Night will be hold­ing their next music night at St Au­gus­tine’s Church on Fri­day Jan­uary, 12 2018.

Doors open at 7pm for a start time of 7.30pm un­til 10.30pm. £5 en­try, BYOB and glass and en­joy a won­der­ful night of var­ied music.

A col­lec­tion of lo­cal artists will of­fer a se­lec­tion of folk, blues, jazz, rock and pop in acous­tic for­mat.

Lo­cal band AGM will host the event as usual and in­cluded on the bill this month Ka­tee Kross, Ian and Val Wald­man, The Mid­gies, and Kerry Smith per­form­ing on the night. Lo­cal Ram­blers

He­lens­burgh and West Dun­bar­ton­shire Ram­blers’ walk on Satur­day, Jan­uary 6 is to Tom­nah-Airdh from Kid­ston Park, He­lens­burgh.

It is a lo­cal cir­cu­lar walk us­ing a few dif­fer­ent paths to our pre­vi­ous as­cents.The walk fol­lows the tracks up to the reser­voirs above Rhu and reaches the sum­mit of Tom­nah-Airdh through the fire break to the west of the sum­mit.

Re­turn through the High­land­man’s Wood and DuchessWoods.The ter­rain is mi­nor roads, for­est tracks, hill paths and open hill­side which is steep and boggy in places.

The dis­tance is 12km and it climbs 440m to a height of 354m. Meet at He­lens­burgh Swim­ming Pool car park to de­part at 9.30am.

On Sun­day, Jan­uary 7, the walk is Ardgarten Penin­sula and is a cir­cu­lar walk on forestry tracks from Coi­lessan Events car park to the dis­used struc­ture on Loch Long op­po­site Glen­mal­lon Jetty. The ter­rain is forestry tracks with one small wash-out to ne­go­ti­ate. Dis­tance is 10.5km. They will climb 160m to a height of 151m. A bus tak­ing mem­bers to a pan­tomime is leav­ing Lady­ton car park at 10.30am on Wed­nes­day Jan­uary 10, 2018.The club is hold­ing a bingo af­ter­noon on Tues­day, Jan­uary 30 at 1pm for all mem­bers.

Buggy fit
