Dumbarton Acoustic Music Night
Dumbarton Acoustic Music Night will be holding their next music night at St Augustine’s Church on Friday January, 12 2018.
Doors open at 7pm for a start time of 7.30pm until 10.30pm. £5 entry, BYOB and glass and enjoy a wonderful night of varied music.
A collection of local artists will offer a selection of folk, blues, jazz, rock and pop in acoustic format.
Local band AGM will host the event as usual and included on the bill this month Katee Kross, Ian and Val Waldman, The Midgies, and Kerry Smith performing on the night. Helensburgh and West Dunbartonshire Ramblers’ walk on Saturday, January 6 is to Tomnah-Airdh from Kidston Park, Helensburgh.
It is a local circular walk using a few different paths to our previous ascents.The walk follows the tracks up to the reservoirs above Rhu and reaches the summit of Tomnah-Airdh through the fire break to the west of the summit.
Return through the Highlandman’s Wood and DuchessWoods.The terrain is minor roads, forest tracks, hill paths and open hillside which is steep and boggy in places.
The distance is 12km and it climbs 440m to a height of 354m. Meet at Helensburgh Swimming Pool car park to depart at 9.30am.
On Sunday, January 7, the walk is Ardgarten Peninsula and is a circular walk on forestry tracks from Coilessan Events car park to the disused structure on Loch Long opposite Glenmallon Jetty. The terrain is forestry tracks with one small wash-out to negotiate. Distance is 10.5km. They will climb 160m to a height of 151m. A bus taking members to a pantomime is leaving Ladyton car park at 10.30am on Wednesday January 10, 2018.The club is holding a bingo afternoon on Tuesday, January 30 at 1pm for all members.
