Take the coach

Let's Talk - - Postbag -

I couldn’t agree more with Mike Witney (August) re coach holidays.

Being very fortunate to have taken holidays over much of the world since the 1970s until a few years ago, when, like your reader we realised that the three-hour journey to a London airport, and having to arrive three hours before the flight, not to mention the cramped economy seating, and long haul flights has often meant home to hotel could take more than 20 hours, which eventually became too much to handle as we got older.

We have for the past few years taken coach holidays instead, mostly to Scotland where we found some of highland scenery equally as pleasing as the American and Canadian Rockies, without the hassle of airports.

Another bonus we have found is that a local holiday coach company offers a door to door service.
