THE RUSSIAN STATE

Let's Talk - - Diary Dates 110 -

Opera will perform Carmen at the King’s Lynn Corn Exchange on Sunday, September 23.

The highly-acclaimed Russian State Opera returns with a mix of fierce passion and gorgeous melodies in Carmen, the most powerful and enjoyable opera, with music by Georges Bizet, sung in French with English subtitles.

The evening features an impressive cast accompanied by a large live orchestra with more than 30 musicians.

Carmen tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by Carmen, a freespirited femme fatale. José abandons his childhood sweetheart and deserts from his military duties, yet loses Carmen’s love to the glamorous toreador Escamillo.

If you’ve never tried opera, you will love the full orchestra experience with fantastic colourful costumes, exquisite singing and the wonderful tunes.

Bay City Rollers icon Les McKeown is back on tour, bringing his fantastic show to Alive Corn Exchange the previous evening, Saturday, September 22.

Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers promises to be a unique voyage back to the 1970s, when Les and his legendary band ruled the world’s pop charts and The Bay City Rollers’ music became the soundtrack for a generation of teenagers.

Les brings back the all the thrill and excitement of Rollermania, performing all the original hits including Bye Bye Baby, Shanga-Lang, Remember, Summerlove Sensation and Give A Little Love plus many more, as well as introducing new songs from the new album ‘Lost Songs’.
