Let's Talk - - POSTBAG -

Having read in the September edition the story about the Coop and that the first secretary was a George Hines, I was very interested as my greatgrandmother’s maiden name was Hines.

So I looked up my family tree and found there was a George Hines who was born in Occold in Suffolk in 1839 and married in August 1862 in Ipswich to a Rebecca Rivers.

He died in Ipswich in 1914. If he is the right person, which I think he must be, he was my first cousin three times removed.

I am writing to thank you for bringing him to my attention. If it hadn’t been for that story, I would never have known what he did. Mrs OLIVE BARBER Barford Norfolk
