Let’s all enjoy a whistle

Let's Talk - - POSTBAG -

Have we forgotten about the happy sound of whistling?

Back in the 1960s and 70s it was a common sound in the street, to hear people whistling.

The coalman, milkman, tradesmen all went about their business whistling a happy tune.

My late husband John was a great whistler so I could always hear him returning from work.

We must all remember the late, great bird whistler and television personality, Percy Edwards.

What a wonderful sound he could make.

Now the world is obsessed with mobile phones.

Let’s all try to chill and listen to the birdsong and whistle a happy tune.
