Iam fun­da­men­tally a clas­sic farm­house style home cook, as my par­ents are farm­ers and it’s still very much a life­style I em­brace.

I pro­duce a lot of ev­ery­day bak­ing to feed my fam­ily, how­ever my real pas­sion lies in my ‘cre­ative bak­ing’, and I en­joy noth­ing more than in­dulging in a bit of sug­ar­craft. Christ­mas is the per­fect ex­cuse for me to do some­thing dif­fer­ent in the kitchen and hope­fully my fes­tive gift box cake will in­spire you to have a go your­self.

This cake dec­o­rat­ing project will take a lit­tle skill and time, but I def­i­nitely think it is worth the ef­fort. If you were to use dif­fer­ent colours and omit the baubles and the gin­ger­bread men, it would make a lovely cel­e­bra­tion cake for any time of the year.
