Art Fair East, at Norwich’s St Andrew’s Hall, is the eastern region’s largest, most popular and liveliest contemporary art event.
Now in its fourth year, it brings together artists, galleries and dealers.
The fair takes place from Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 2 and around 200 artists will be exhibiting.
Founded and curated by experienced arts professionals Will Teather and Brian Korteling, Art Fair East showcases quality galleries, dealers and artists and has become one of the country’s leading fairs outside London.
As well as being an important showcase for artists and galleries in Norfolk and Suffolk, Art Fair East also features exhibitors from London, around the UK and overseas.
Teather and Korteling are careful to make sure that there is always a good mix of returning exhibitors and new artists so that every year is different.
New participants include East London Printmakers and popular Norfolk-based artist Lucy Loveheart. Lucy specialises in creating magical pictures with a naïve and childlike charm.
As Jo Mullins, of Norfolk’s Heart of Glass gallery, says: “Art Fair East keeps getting better, with a wide selection of art to suit all tastes and budgets and a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere.”
Another exhibitor will be Phil Saxton. He is based in Gillingham, near Beccles, Suffolk, and works from home. Yorky, as Phil is known, burns images on to wood, (pyrography). He sees images manifest from the shapes of the grain and blow torch in hand, developes those images.
Art Fair East is sponsored by Musker McIntyre.
