ALL GEEK TO ME

- COMICS AND FILM NEWS

Bruce Wayne finds himself where no bat has been before in a new comic series this week.

Batman: Off-World finds the Dark Knight, fairly early on in his crime fighting career, on the grim streets of Gotham. But he’s confronted by a bad guy from beyond the stars.

This six-issue mini series marks a Batman debut for superstar DC writer Jason Aaron, who’s paired with artist Doug Mahnke.

Batman: Off-World #1 is out now priced £3.90, look out for variant covers.

THE SANDMAN: MORPHEUS HELM MASTERPIECE EDITION

It’s considered the greatest graphic novel of all time, and it’s been given some very special treatment.

The Sandman has won countless awards, been an audio drama, and even been turned into a Netflix series.

Now serious fans can part with some serious cash for an extra special collection.

The Masterpiece Edition book set includes six exclusive leather-bound, foil-embossed hardcovers, collecting together stories from the entire Sandman saga. They’re designed to fit in the intricately carved book stand that features a highly detailed bone snout and riveted exterior, resembling Morpheus’ helm.

This collection will set you back £450, but those lovely people at Forbidden Planet have it for £310.50.

Of all the weird and wonderful comic crossover events this year, this had to be my favourite.

Last summer saw the Stranger Things gang on a trip to New York. But no sooner had they arrived, when they were face to face with a bizarre, yet familiar threat. This time they find help in the form of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

This ‘director’s cut’ features script pages and early-process art from author Cameron Chittock and artist Fero Pe.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles X Stranger Things: Director’s Cut #1 is out now, priced £5.85.
