The new range of abstract, architectural prints from Scion are designed to work together beautifully and will add a shot of style to any space
Every savvy interior designer knows that the easiest way to express yourself is to keep backdrops über-plain and add colour, pattern and shape the simple way – with attention-grabbing fabrics and wall coverings. Anyone looking to inject an easy shot of contemporary chic into their home – at an accessible price – should look no further than Scion wallpaper and fabric designs.
A young and uniquely British brand, Scion’s latest range defines the term ‘retro contemporary’. With wallpapers, fabrics, voiles and cushions, Scion’s abstract designs add a modern cutting edge to cool, sparse interiors and a dash of energy and inspiration.
This season, its new range is Lohko. Named after the Finnish word for ‘blocks’, it was created by Scion designer Hannah Bowen, who wanted, she says, to create something clean and contemporary using her distinctive style hallmarks – bold use of colour and shapes. ‘The collection centres on graphic modernist motifs,’ says Bowen, ‘and is formed from fractured geometrics and deconstructed, overlaid shapes.’ It pays homage – and is inspired by – both mid-century archival prints and modern Scandinavian design (but fabrics and wallpapers are made and manufactured in the UK).
Design motifs rest on a slub-textured background and include clever repetitions of triangles, chevrons, squiggles, tulip shapes and a distinctive boulder motif, with all the patterns – whether on fabric or wall coverings – able to be mixed and matched to create your own signature look. So discover Scion – and add an instant and distinctively modern twist to your space.
