work a Jack­son pollock look with dripped ef­fects

Put on your over­alls – things are about to get messy. for au­tumn/win­ter 2016, de­sign­ers have been paint­ing out­side of the lines, with colour be­ing dripped and flicked in ev­ery di­rec­tion. the cat­walk was splat­tered in bright, un­even blotches, with christo­pher kane’s mod­els daubed in inky, clash­ing tones (and pro­tec­tive head­gear) and diane von fursten­berg’s run­way lay­ing on the brush­strokes. Home­ware’s get­ting arty too – Rockett st ge­orge’s Rain­bow hang­ing shade takes the can­vas paint­ing from the wall to the ceil­ing, while damien Hirst’s unique spin chair looks like it needs a ‘wet paint’ sign. so throw away your paint-by-num­bers, rent a stu­dio space and cre­ate a hap­haz­ard mas­ter­piece.
