1 Design THE for change EXHIBITION

A forest has appeared in the courtyard of Somerset House, London, as part of an installation for the third edition of the London Design Biennale, which takes place 1-27 June. The biennale will feature installations from a diverse group of international designers, curators and design institutes in response to the event’s theme, ‘Resonance’, which considers the ripple effect of groundbreaking concepts on the way we live and the choices we make.

Tickets from £16, somersethouse.org.uk

2 THE MUST READ Comfort food

Cooking has been a balm for many of us this past year. The

Calm Kitchen by Lorna Salmon (£7.99, Pavilion Books) is part recipe, part self-care book, showing how mindful cooking can lead to better peace of mind and better health and wellbeing. It features a blend of vegetarian recipes, including duck egg shakshuka with burrata and the perfect mushroom stroganoff.

It’s a firm favourite with local tastemaker Ben Pentreath. brassicarestaurant.co.uk
