‘I love creating nooks out of wasted space which can then be used for books, decorative pieces or flowers,’ says designer Octavia Dickinson. ‘I like to defunctionalise a bathroom to give it a softer feel with less harsh edges; ways to do this include introducing fabrics where possible with wallpaper and hanging antique mirrors, pictures and china on the walls.’
